At the core of the French singer-songwriter Vincent Eckert's approach is a thirst for authenticity and depth. At work on his own songs for now five years, he crafts lyrics where the realities of love and wandering and a true lust for life are tinged with a sense of candid melancholy.

The range of his music stretches from savage rock to chiselled ballads with a vast panel of sound textures: electric, acoustic with the occasional eerie colouring added by traditional and exotic instruments.

With a solid experience of touring and much time spent in the recording studio, after TV and radio appearances as well as composing background music for the theatre, Vincent Eckert is now eager to share his vision and his music on a larger scale.

In February 2004, d’OueST, published by the independent label Kanai and distributed by Next Music, is Vincent Eckert's first album to be issued on the national market.
The title and some of its thirteen tracks clearly testify to the Celtic influence that extensive travelling to Britany and Ireland has nourished. However, the production adds a more exotic colouring to some of the tracks with the use of middle eastern instruments, but Vincent Eckert's music remains grounded in solid rock roots and in a tradition of reflexive songwriting.
